Happy Friday! The weekend is almost here, and we know you’re ready to get out and explore. Whether you're heading to the mountains, the beach, or just visiting friends, the last thing you want is car trouble to put a damper on your plans.

Vehicle maintenance can sound like a daunting task, but a few quick checks can prevent a lot of headaches (and expense!) down the road. It only takes about 15 minutes a month to ensure your car is as ready for the weekend as you are.

Before you back out of the driveway, take this simple safety check:

  1. See and Be Seen (Lights): Walk around your car and make sure all your headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are working. It’s crucial for visibility and safety.

  2. Top It Off (Fluids): Pull the dipstick and check your oil. Quickly glance at the brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant levels. And don’t forget to top up your windshield washer fluid – nothing is worse than a dirty windshield you can’t clean.

  3. Pressure Up (Tires): Your tires are your only contact with the road. Use a simple tire pressure gauge (they only cost a few dollars!) to ensure they are inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended level (usually found on a sticker inside the driver’s door jam). Proper pressure improves handling, fuel efficiency, and prevents blowouts.

The "Weekend Ready" Feeling

While you're at it, take five minutes to toss out any trash inside the car and give the exterior a quick rinse. There’s something special about starting your weekend in a fresh, clean vehicle that makes the journey even better.

These small, consistent actions are the secret to keeping your car running smoothly for years to come.

Stay Safe and Have an Amazing Weekend!
