A useful quote begins with useful information

Whether you own a home, a rental or a commercial building, the quoting process is easier when your records are organized. You do not need to know every insurance term. You do need to describe the property accurately and provide the documents the agent requests.

Create one property folder

Include the address, legal owner, current declarations page, occupancy details and lender information. Add roof and system updates, square footage records and requested loss history. For rentals, include unit counts and rental information. For a construction project, gather the budget, scope and schedule. Mark any information that needs verification instead of filling a gap with a guess.

Check the proposal before accepting it

Review the owner name, location, use, limits, deductibles and requested effective date. Ask about any differences from your current coverage. Do not assume sending documents or receiving a quote means coverage is active; obtain confirmation that coverage has been bound. Share sensitive records through the agency’s approved secure process and keep a copy of your final insurance documents.

A request does not bind, change or guarantee coverage. Policy terms, limits, exclusions, insurer eligibility and property details determine available options.
